Request

Can you please confirm whether traffic wardens are or are not allowed to use authorised council vehicles to park on single or double yellow lines when carrying out their enforcement duties. Can you please provide any document issued to staff relating to this.

Response

Can you please confirm whether traffic wardens are or are not allowed to use authorised council vehicles to park on single or double yellow lines when carrying out their enforcement duties.

Civil Enforcement Officers (CEO's) vehicles are exempt from single and double yellow line restrictions whilst undertaking enforcement activities, under our Traffic Regulation Order, which is a legal document for the Council to regulate the on street parking controls in the borough.

Can you please provide any document issued to staff relating to this.

There isn't a document that is issued to staff relating to parking on restrictions, however CEO's are permitted to park on restrictions to conduct enforcement activities, when there is not suitable or alternative parking in the close proximity to the enforcement patrols.
